The Chronicles of Amber

Science fiction fantasies of exotic travel in futures we still dream of, brought to you courtesy of the Sci-Fi Airshow:  The Jupiter 2; The Liberty 2; The Spindrift; The Eagle 4; The Flying Sub (FS-1).  Irwin Allen can be thanked for the first, the third, and the last of these.  Those three were featured on his Lost in Space, Land of the Giants, and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea television shows.  The Eagle hails from Gerry and Sylvia Andersons Space: 1999 and Moonbase Alpha.  The final craft (2nd shown) has been known as both Icarus and Liberty, and was the starship which brought astronaut George Taylor and the rest of his doomed crew to Pierre Boulles Planet of the Apes.  Other vehicles, such as the shuttle Orion, from Kubricks 2001: A Space Odyssey, can also be viewed at Bill Georges extremely cool site.
